The Bangladesh Overbear

BNP Secretary General and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan called upon the people to extend their whole-hearted cooperation towards the government’s post-flood rehabilitation activities, reports BSS.

“The government will do everything necessary for recovering the loss caused by the flood, but we need your whole-hearted cooperation in this massive task,” he said while distributing relief goods among the flood-hit people in the city’s Maghbazar area on Saturday.

The minister urged especially the political parties, NGOs and the affluent people to play their pioneering roles by taking active part in the countrywide post-flood rehabilitation programme.

The BNP Secretary General distributed rice, pulse, potato and various dry food among the flood-hit people sheltered in Nazrul Shikhyalaya. The relief operation in the area is being supervised by the local Member of Parliament Alhaj Mosaddek Ali.

Dhaka City Corporation ward commissioners Chowdhury Mohammad Alam and Sharmila Islam, local BNP leaders Nani Talukdar, Sharfuddin Ahmed, Sheikh Amir Ali, Tasmin Rana, Abul Kalam Azad and Rasheda Wahid were also present on the occasion.

Mannan Bhuiyan assured the people that the government had adequate relief materials for distribution in the country’s flood-hit areas.

Alhaj Mosaddek Ali MP said the government was extending all kinds of cooperation to the flood-hit people in the area. “If necessary, the relief operation will continue until the complete recession of floodwaters,” he said.
