Popular artistes Shafin Ahmed, Bappa Mojumder and Mehreen then circled the BNS singing World Cup's theme song -- Utshabe Anande Mete Uthuk Cricket.

Some 600 boys and girls from Bir Shreshtha Nur Mohammad Rifles Public School and College, and Bir Shreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf Rifles School and College, dancers from the Rangamati Cultural Institute and Shilpakala Academy took part in an impressive cultural show.

The night's events culminated in a brilliant fireworks display organised by the Bangladesh Army.
