Speaker informs JS of Mahi, Mannans' resignation

Speaker Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar on Tuesday informed the Jatiya Sangsad that Mahi B Chowdhury and Abdul Mannan had resigned from parliament on March 10, reports BSS.

As per rules 177 and 178(3) of the Rules of Procedure, the Speaker told the house that Mahi elected from Munshiganj-1 constituency of the Jatiya Sangsad had tendered his resignation to him on March 10.

On the same day, Abdul Mannan elected from Dhaka-10 constituency also resigned, Barrister Sircar said and read out the relevant portions of their resignation letters.

The Speaker told the house that the resignation of the two members of parliament had already been published in the gazzette and copies of the gazzette were sent to them.
